Golden Corn Bread

- 1 Cup Quaker Yellow Corn Meal
- 1 Cup Sifted Flour
- ¼ Cup Sugar
- 4 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- ½ Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Egg
- 1 Cup Milk
- ¼ Cup Shortening, Softened
- Sift together the corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder & salt.
- Add the egg, milk & shortening.
- Beat until smooth (about 1 minute).
- Place batter in an 8" greased pan.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
